This camellia is the palest shade of pink. The petals are delicate and smooth.

This week it’s a camellia every day to mark the start of Winter in Sydney.

Geraniums are great plants - they flower most of the year in Sydney and are happy in a pot or a garden bed.

Gorgeous Gardenia Bud

Did you know that gardenias are members of the coffee plant family, Rubiaceae?  This is a gorgeous gardenia bud that I spotted in a local garden.  It’s less than a week away from the start of Winter in Sydney, and there are still gardenias flowering.

A golden Gazania - or African Daisy.  Not surprisingly these flowers are in the daisy plant family - Asteraceae.

Colourful Lantana

 

I don’t usually put Lantana on this blog. In Sydney Lantana can be an invasive weed and spread throughout bushland. But this colourful lantana, in a local garden caught my eye with it’s ombre colour scheme.
